Privacy Policy

Last updated: 12 May 2025

At Simply Careers, we are committed to protecting your privacy — whether you’re browsing our website at www.simplycareers.com.au or engaging with us as a client. In this policy, “we”, “us”, or “our” refers to Simply Careers, operated by its parent company, The Elite Collective.

We manage personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), which govern how we collect, use, disclose, store and protect personal information, and how you can access or correct it.

What personal information do we collect and why?

We only collect personal information that is necessary for us to provide our services to you or communicate with you effectively.

We collect personal information from you when:

  • You subscribe to our e-newsletter or blog (e.g. your name and email address).

  • You engage our career development services (e.g. your name, contact details, qualifications, work history, and any other information relevant to your career support).

  • You contact us with an enquiry (we may collect the information you submit via forms, phone or email).

We use this information to:

  • Provide career services and respond to your enquiries.

  • Set you up as a client and manage your account.

  • Send you relevant updates, service information, and newsletters.

  • Maintain internal records and comply with our legal obligations.

  • Improve our services and user experience.

How is payment information handled?

We do not directly store your payment information. All payments are processed securely via third-party platforms such as PayPal and Stripe. We encourage you to review their individual privacy policies separately.

Client communications

From time to time, we may use your details to notify you of:

  • New or updated services

  • Special offers

  • Changes to our business hours (e.g. holiday closures)

You can opt out at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in our emails or contacting us directly.

Who has access to your data?

Only authorised staff and service providers working with us will access your personal information — and only for the purpose of delivering the services you’ve requested. All staff and contractors sign comprehensive non-disclosure agreements as part of their onboarding.

We use secure third-party platforms to manage client data, including:

  • Microsoft 365

  • Xero

  • HubSpot

Data security

We take your privacy seriously. Your information is stored securely, and we have implemented suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to prevent unauthorised access, misuse, or disclosure.

If a data breach occurs that is likely to result in serious harm, we will notify you and follow the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme requirements under the Privacy Act.

Cookies

We use cookies on our website to improve your experience. Cookies help us understand browsing behaviour and allow the website to tailor content to your preferences. They do not give us access to your computer or any personal information.

You can choose to accept or reject cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may impact the functionality of our website.

Third-party websites and links

Our website may contain links to other websites. Please be aware that we are not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of any external websites before disclosing personal information.

Data retention

We retain personal information only for as long as it is needed to fulfil the purpose it was collected for, or to comply with our legal and regulatory obligations. When it is no longer required, we securely delete or de-identify it.

Your rights to access and correct your information

You have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, and to request corrections if you believe it is inaccurate, out-of-date, incomplete or misleading.

To request access or correction, please contact us via our contact form. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.
